Discussion on the financial aspects of life - from bank accounts, bank overdrafts and budgeting, tax, savings and investments. For discussion of student loan please use the financial support of the Student-Forum grants and scholarships. Old 1 Hour ago: 6. August 2011 14: 27 Hi everyone!

I have a problem a bit. I am English and have a UK Passport, but I've lived in Germany for the past. I'm starting University in September, and I need to get a UK bank account.

Anywhere I can apply for a student account, because I was in the United Kingdom for the past three years not lived still (even though I have an English address). I have tried only to find a normal account, then, that I could apply either to them not, because I will be a full time student request.

Advice on what to do and where are you going? I've tried NatWest and Barclays. I'm fine with a regular student account.

Thank you very much!

Old 46 Minutes ago: 7 August 2011 15: 23 lylydo +1   [important] was bank accounts for international students Hello everyone,

I think, it may have been some issues such as me, but please take some time, to answer me.

I am an international student and will study this September in Norwich, England. I have some questions about opening a bank account.

There are Barclays and NatWest branches on the campus of the University, so I think the opening a Barclays account (NatWest requires some monthly fee, and there were some other recent changes, I don't like). Do you think that I should be opened a normal current account (http://www.barclays.co.uk/CurrentAccounts/Keepitsimple/BarclaysBankAccount/P1242557963758; http://www.barclays.co.uk/Currentaccounts/Packagedaccounts/CashCardAccount/P1242557963900) or an account for international students (http://www.offshore.barclays.com/uk-student-account/)? That it would be better for money transfer?

There are also some other banks such as HSBC and Lloyds (basic current account). Do you think that the most trusted and has the best customer service?

I'm pretty clueless about this stuff so help is appreciated.

Thanks guys.

August 2011 22: 19 University student insurance solution in the soon-to-his way to University this September. I search in best assure my possessions at the University.

I have:
+ MacBook Air (£ 1400)
+ NEX-5 (£ 500)

I need to:
+ iPhone 5

I've been looking at insurance, I heard Endsleigh is good.
But I think that I can have a better option:
I have a student account with co-op opened recently. They have given me their privilege account offered, where for £ 9 per month, they cover all the above and I get an extra £ 200 on draft on this account. On my £ 1400 overdraft in the adjacent student user account.

Other suggestions?

Music students, advice please.

Music students, advice please.

Music students, advice please. I'll be in my third year studying music now, and so I try, pieces select my dissertation (it's a 20-minute performance).
I'm kind of but firmly so that I am interested in for any help and ideas. I am a pianist.

I have two ideas are (because I they will be linked with some sort of theme): "Night" pieces (several Nocturnes and equally by various composers) or "Water" pieces.
Night pieces – is the thing that I have found that the most Nocturnes are very similar in mood and speed, and I obviously need a different program, so that the audience actually place to sleep are interested in.
So if someone, any pieces (preferably classical/romantic white) on the night, but a bit more lively / lute, related, that would help.

Water pieces - I have a similar problem. There are many Impressionist romantic pieces associated with water (Debussy, Ravel, etc.), but they are pretty quiet and "trickly" all and I can find nothing exciting/loud or living.

I know this may seem long and very specific, but any help would be really appreciated. Thank you very much
