Moving home away.... forever

28 Minutes ago: 7 August 2011 15: 39
moving home away.... forever was everyone else in this situation?I have moved only in the North East of South West Devon, close to. I moved here with his my friend that I met at University. We were together for three years in October, and I am of course to spend much time with it used. But I have now got a job and moved to his hometown, and I feel homesick.
Don't me wrong, I love it here and being with him. I would not want it otherwise
I am so excited about the future etc.
BUT the feelings of homesickness are with me. The realization that I 400 miles away from 'House bin'. Implementations that I will not see, my parents old or spending time with my sister and friends from home. The really difficult to imagine.
I understand I probably only still take everything as it comes and it will feel not so bad. I feel not bad about them right now, I'm not homesick. It is the realization that I will never be life close to my family, etc....
I don't know what I expect from this, only calm down what I feel me is normal?
Thanks for the read.
21 Minutes ago: 7 August 2011 15: 46 Re: moving home away.... forever I'm not in the same situation (my friend is local and if we move, hopefully in six months, we are only about 30-40 minutes from our respective homes), but I think I would feel very much like you. Of course you are excited, it is a completely new phase in your life, but must make it difficult, the last chapter behind to leave because they were clearly happy. I think it is only a matter of time. Make sure that you went way, UNI, but it was different, you knew you would be more at home in x number of weeks. This is permanent, and I think this is where the feelings of come. I know it of a long way home but visit your parents and sisters, and I am sure that you see it at different family reunions, etc.. Spoken you have, your friend as you feel? I think what you feel, is quite natural. It will adapt a while take, but I am sure you will
Fall out, and apply for 2012?
I have at the University of hull for about three weeks, and I am seriously because that I have made the wrong choice of the University.
I applied for, and wanted to live in halls, but in a private house of the students have landed. I was really looking forward to the social side of life in halls, and even though I get on with three others (first year) guys in my House have good enough it all their own group of friends (especially by people who knew them before University) so that I don't get, often to be socialize with them. I have everything do to transfer, but this looks to be likely to succeed. Anyway I tried to put all my efforts in my course and acceding societies. And while I have had a few good nights on socials, I'm not really 'click' with everyone - and a lot of people are already in close nit groups by friends who have made it in halls! So, not my social life here has happened. Furthermore, during the course, I'm doing (politics) well on paper looks, I find that I am not really into getting. I feel separately in lectures, and am struggling to find the motivation to do the work/read outside.
I went home last weekend (this was for a family event, planned, before I left UNI) and I remember waking up in the morning of the day, which really came to feel about the prospect of returning to hull. Despite trying, a positive attitude to keep, I am here while so that I can give a fair chance to the point, I'm find it hard to keep my mood. When I at College, my A-levels, which I was was really excited about my themes to do, friends made easy (I started College, not knowing someone either), and in General had a great time. I have no problem, friendships, where I work (part time). So it's not like this stuff me usually a problem. Also, while I like it, time with my family, I a lot of time away from home before, I don't think that homesickness is a problem for me.
Hull was my choice, but on my have predicted grades, I really expected was, at the end on my insurance University, Aberystwyth. I have got some old friends at Aberystwyth, really liked the place (city and University) when I went to the open day, and really into the idea of the course I wanted to do it. Better grades, when I was on results day expected when I and increased in Hull, I was surprised and very disappointed that I didn't want to, Aberystwyth.
I believe that can be avoided if I fall into the time, I have to pay tuition fees at hull. I would then return to my work at home (I know, I can) hopefully mean to coming September ahead of the new University (Aberystwyth hopefully!). (I have also friends who still at home, would be so I without any colleagues.) I could also read some for the new course in the next year, and again with learning a foreign language, which is something that I've always wanted to do.
While I am I still in the hull will give it 100%, but I think that hull is not only for me, and I should this look on from somewhere else in 2012 accept.
Similar experiences, thoughts, or just someone told me I'm and idiot, even if you appreciated this all.
Kind of despairing..
AppId is over the quota
This is a bit long winded, just a prewarning.
Basically, I'm feeling really, really, really down since finishing sixth form.
It's down to a number of things that I can point out, but I'm not sure why certain things are affecting me the way they are..
One of the main things is the fact that my best friend has recently moved away for uni. She's not exactly the other end of the country but nor is she close enough to come home often, so I'm hardly going to see her now, if I do even at all. I do rely on her a lot, which I know is a bit stupid/childish at my age (almost 19) but she's been my best friend since the start of high school, more or less, and we have very, very similar interests/music taste/hobbies/everything. She's basically like my unbiological twin, in some respects. She didn't go to the same sixth form as me because she decided to move to a different one for some reason or another, so I didn't see her THAT MUCH anyway, but I did speak to her online almost every night, so it was fine.
Before she moved away to uni she promised me that we'd still speak often (not every night as before, which is obviously to be expected) and that we'd still be, for lack of a better way to put it, "best friends".. except that since she moved, she's barely spoken to me, and when she has, it' obvious that she's not really bothered (texts which don't make much sense, mainly), or that she's only speaking to me because she feels like she has to. Which I don't want at all. I understand that it's still freshers week and that she's probably still settling into her new room/uni, etc, but I'm not going to lie, I'm quite upset that she's already not keeping to her word even a little bit. I do realise that I sound like a child, and that's partly what bothers me the most. I wish I wasn't so upset by it all, because I'm fully aware that it's childish and stupid, but the fact of the matter is that I am bothered, and I don't know what to do about it.
I do have other friends, albeit not a massive group or anything, and like me they are all going to one of the local universities, so I'll still see them around. I have a good friend who is even doing the same course at the same uni as me, and who like me, hasn't moved out into halls or anything. So it's not like I'm completely alone, although I do feel like that at the moment, as I feel like nobody really understands why I'm so upset about stuff. I don't really understand myself.
The second part of the problem is the fact that, as I said above, I didn't move out for uni. I think that it was a big mistake on my part to stay at home, as I don't live IN the city, but rather about 20 minutes outside it. I feel like I'm missing out big time on opportunities to make friends, as I'm not a loud or confident person by any sense of the words, so I can't just walk up to strangers and start chatting away. I feel like if I was PUT in a situation (like moving into halls) where there are people I'd be forced to talk to, then I'd be fine. But seeing as though I live at home, finding opportunities to talk to new people is much harder than I expected. The reason I didn't move out is the plain and simple fact that I know I wouldn't be able to cope on my own. And even if I did chance it, I would have been living off pennies, quite literally, as my parents couldn't afford to give me money each month/week/whatever, and my student loan would have barely covered the cost of the accomodation.
The fact is that seeing my best friend who moved away making all kinds of new friends, despite being as quiet if not more so than me, is making me kind of jealous and despairing. I feel at a real disadvantage, because if she can do it, why can't I? I'm not, as far as I know, a complete weirdo, and I enjoy going out every now and then so it's not like I'm completely anti social. I just need people I can go out with, as I'm not the type of person who can turn up at something on my own and muscle in.
I know most of it is stuff I can fix myself (join societies, etc) I just don't know how to force myself into situations that I know I'm going to find horrendously awkward and stressful. And I genuinely have no idea how I can make myself less bothered by the fact that my friend doesn't seem to want to know me all of a sudden. It's a weight on my mind and I don't know what to do about it.
Tl;dr - My best friend has moved away to uni and has seemingly forgotten I exist already, and I'm finding it difficult to make new friends in my own uni due to living at home and being overly shy and underconfident.

Check out our amazing new Body Candy video called “How to Change a Captive Bead Ring,” narrated by our own Body Candy team member, Janna. It’s everything you’ve ever wanted to know about opening, closing, and changing out your captive jewelry at home, plus the tools that are available to help you get started. Here we go!
The video begins:
Hi guys. This Janna with Body Candy, and today I’m gonna show you a little bit about ball closure rings. They’re used in a lot of different piercings, (she holds up the ring at this point) and a lot of people find it very tricky to take the ball in and out when they’re at home after they order them and are changing their jewelry. So, we’re gonna give you some tips about how you can do this at home.
You wanna make sure you have a room with lots of bright light, preferably the bathroom ((works great)), cause you’ve got a mirror or two. Make sure your hands and the jewelry are very clean, use anti-bacterial soap, and then you wanna cover the drain with a paper towel or a tissue to make sure that if you drop the ball it doesn’t go rolling down the drain.

Ball closure rings are made of two parts: there’s the ring, (she’s turns the ring to show it off) and the ball that pops into it (now pointing out the closure ball). So, this is how you take ‘em apart: hold the ring in your stronger hand, grab the ball, squeeze the ring a little bit, (she grips the ring and carefully removes the ball) and the ball will pop out. The ball has little divots on either side, (she’s turns the ball to reveal its indentations) and when you’re ready to put the ball back in, line up the divot that’s on the bottom, (she lines up the divot on the ball and forces it back into the ring) and pop the ball back into place.
We also have these rings that are just called closure rings, (she moves on, holding up a closure ring with pink and clear gemstones) and they’re even easier to put back together, because the piece that closes it (she points out the closure) doesn’t roll away like a ball. You hold the ring the same way, pull on the closure piece, (she demonstrates) it comes out, it also has little divots on the top and the bottom. And when you’re ready to put it back in, line that up, squeeze it, (she puts the closure back in) and it goes back into place.

Sometimes when you have bigger gauge rings ((heavier weight piercings)), you need to use tools in order to open and close the rings. So what we’re gonna do, (she picks up a new ball captive) is show you a little bit about how to use each of these tools. This tool here is a ring spreader, (she lifts the tool) and you put the ring in, squeeze it just enough so you can get the ball out, (she uses the tool and removes the ball) cause if you open it too far, the ball won’t stay in, and you keep using this tool and this tool back and forth, (she gestures between the ring spreaders and the ring closing tool) and you don’t wanna do that. So, this tool is a ring closer. (She lifts the tool and demonstrates the process.) So what you’d wanna do is once you’ve got the ball back in place, you put the ring in here and just squeeze it a tiny, tiny bit; just to close it enough to keep the ball tight. (The ball is now back in and held firm.)
This tool here is an alternate ring spreader or ring closer; (she chooses the tool and opens it, pointing out the shape) it has little divots that hold smaller rings in place. ((That won’t fit this one.)) And this is a little pair of tweasers that holds the ball for you, (she briefly holds the tweasers) so if you’ve got big fingers and you’re having a hard time holding onto the ball, this is what you’d wanna use, so let’s see if we can get it to work. You’d wanna line it up so you can see the divots, (she places the ball in the tweasers and lines it up) cause you need to be able to see ‘em in order to do it. So, the same way you would if it was in your hand, line up the divot on the bottom, then the top, and pop it into place. (She demonstrates and the ball is returned into place.)

So hopefully we gave you some tips that can help you get the best out of your jewelry at home.

Breaking the rules
By aKeke from Texas.
So, I am 17 years old and I have been wanting a belly button pierced since I was about 15. I knew that my mother would say no when I asked one. And so on, I decided my 17 birthday my tummy only IMA get zusammengestückelt on my own, I had to just get the money.
So, I find that my uncle, the tattoos taught his oldest daughter, who is my age and my cousin, piercings to do. About a month ago I talk with my aunt wanted my uncle home and I knew that it pierced my opportunity to my stomach to get. So, I went to my uncle home and seen my cousin, we talk and caught up, then I wanted told her that I pierced my tummy.
Now, she know my mother and how she can get, so that she was scared just thinking without being aware of my mother. So after discussing about it for 10 minutes, she agreed to do it, but right before I left, go home. Time passed and it was 15 minutes before 9 and set up my piercing in what it takes to do it.
She bought the looking Sissor what the skin pinches and tried Itout to me, it hurted a little, but I still wanted it done. So we went into the bathroom and she had everything ready and set up. My heart started beating quickly and I got really nervous and was in the process of bag, but I saw, and she had everything ready, so that I breathe a deep took and was ready for the Sissor thing is seen again. They pinched my skin and got the needle (she had on gloves and use all clean Materails and material), not, I told her to tell me when to do it was but she said that she had to so that I a - and could breathe.
So she asked me I was ready, and I said yes, told her to breathe me, looked up In…i and breathe the needle was you and BAM in my skin. I looked down and I saw, its sliding doors from the needle and replaced it with my ring. "That it, it's over?" I asked. "Yes that is it."My cousin said. ", The really that bad." I thought "violated". Now a month later and my mother doen't Know…lol still I tell her one day.

Probably been asked a million times before... Film & TV
So yes, I see it before loads, but the most threads are of people that it before or what ever never did, but I am now 17 asked been and done, film and sound since I was 14 (in education, I have actually done camera work and write, since I was very young)
I have a pass in iMedia level 2, merit in BTEC first diploma in media and I'm going to do a 2-year course from September a national diploma.
The problem is, I hate it, I love, film, television, and love which each bit is terrible, but the College teachers are usually very inexperienced, the course is stupid, I learn any thing in level 2 and when I chose I thought level 3 (national diploma), I would always better off experience that but then is it out in fact even more stupid at this higher level!
-Rant, starts here leaves you down if you scold the skip möchten--!
Our first year (Yes, a whole year) was the Storyboard a filming of a music video to underestimate, every 5 minutes broke and the batteries lasted no more than 2 minutes and that were tripods about as useful as balance of the camera on my head. When it came to editing we used very old MacBooks, the really slow and we edited in a very old iMovie programs ran. The MacBooks had little fast so I ended up having to take the stuff at home and edit but that meant at home, that many games bring them one - and was to edit between House and College.
For some people who just start would be good, but I'm my work to work in final cut and Adobe programs, and color correction and shooting with HDSLRS and like-minded people work! I feel just like actions, that I prick, am, because I am happy, what have they offer in the first place compared to some people.
-Rant end
-.
So yes, I have a lot of experience with many different programs and am currently putting together a showreel, without imaginary I think that is on a higher quality than a uni last year stuff, but this is mainly due to the fact that I it so long have done that for.
It so that the "real" University for me somewhere not there from scratch inform, would like to learn framing and composition, I would like to lectures to visit, the teachings on really deep stuff, and I wish a challenge be. I would like to be surrounded by people in the same situation and are talented and hard-working and I want much practical things too with decent equipment.
I ask to much I know, but I live in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and really want close to home as possible for visits, if that is not possible to do's but then fair a certain option of Salford University is due to their integration in media city. I understand this is in particular TV, but from what I know, it's also a lot of film and you learn a lot of the same thing and it is difficult to get in film anyway without doing TV stuff first and current freelance.
Yes, anyway, so I'm 17 and will be finishing college for good to June 2013, but want to plan things and as early as possible to visit uni days, it is really important to me always the perfect system is in the perfect College, since I already feel that I have wasted a year.
ANY help/opinions/rants appreciated!
EDIT: What I have written, and everything I've done is rant and State, where I am and not really expressed the real question... but I would like know the right course and right University for me, read only. My final position in say 10 years time of my own shorts would be with a decent occupation and decent equipment for competitions fully funded Director!
My concern about the University
But. When I was in University and go to my local choice here is my concern. I could go to my local options. It is local but not really local, if that makes sense. Train it takes I think 30 minutes there may be more to come. My concern is socially. I fear that this could result in my social life at the University because of distance. Say for example, people go at night, it is hard to come back home. It takes age and it will be difficult, every night home coming. The trains stop at midnight, 1 AM. Taxis are expensive, especially when I only going home on my position at be. Buses is an option, but this will be also time consuming. Night buses do not go to where I live, and the place is next the the go usually to a 25-minute walk.
Question is. How bad will this affect me?
Cheers.
Is it ok to not be too bothered about friends?

1 Hour Ago: 25th October 2011 23:59 Is it ok to not be too bothered about friends? Ok so basically for the first couple of weeks I was miserable because I find it hard to make friends and I felt left out of stuff. But now I'm thinking it doesn't matter too much. I love my course - love it to pieces - and I'm not going to become an insane isolated crazy cat-lady, because I do go to societies and discuss things in seminars and have acquaintances etc etc. Really I work best with small doses of socialisation anyway. I think the main problem was that I was told that uni students are expected to make lots of friends and go out a lot (and I feel pressure quite badly). Now I don't like going out too much and alcohol makes me pretty dumb - something that bothers me - and for a while I was going out drinking anyway.
Now I'm just thinking - be myself, do what I enjoy, get on with the course, obviously be friendly but if I don't have friends maybe I can live with that.
Is this the right way to go, or should I still be trying to meet people and make friends? A big problem is thinking about accommodation for next year, I don't have anyone who would be happy to live with me yet. :/
EDIT: Oh, I do enjoy company and having people to confide in. Back home I had loads of friends and loved them all and they gave me really good support and I had fun with them. But it doesn't look like that's gonna happen anytime soon here...

You're a bit like me. I have friends, I am very comfortable and enjoy myself in social situations, but I don't have any need to have company. Truth be told, I don't care about my friends too much either. My parents are the only people I truly care about.
49 Minutes Ago: 26th October 2011 00:17 Re: Is it ok to not be too bothered about friends? Lemme clean this up. Introverts are NOT (or rarely are):
-Antisocial. Sometimes kinda asocial, but... Not always.
-Shy. I'm an introvert and I'm usually the loudest.
-Submissive. Some can't be bothered to speak up and waste energy talking to someone to get what they want, it's not the same thing.
-Emotionless. It's on a different set of scales than being a 'thinker' or a 'feeler'.
-Socially awkward. Some just don't care what you think.
Introverts do need:
-Contact. They're just more selective. Rather than make ten friends by pretending, she or he will make three close friends, often quickly.
-Conversations. Introverts typically prefer deep conversations and very often dislike small talk - but plenty of introverts learn to handle small-talk.
-Friends. Confidants, people to share interests. Just not loads. 'Quality not quantity'. Honesty comes into it.
Introverts aren't shut ins. They don't always hate people. They're human. They feel. They just get tired out by talking to other people. They rely on themselves. They get overstimulated more easily then extroverts and need time to switch off.
It's a very, very common thing, but society prefers extroverts. It doesn't make you weird or abnormal or mean. It means you are more comfortable and calm by yourself. You can enjoy conversation but ultimately, you will retreat to process that alone. That's the difference. You can look this up. It's not actually about social interaction at all, it's about interaction with the world at large which, in general, involves people.
Are you tired out by going outside and meeting people? Even if you enjoy yourself? Normal - introvert.
Introverts should work on tolerating company. You seem to have that one down.
Does it energise you and you feel bored when you're alone? Extrovert.
Extroverts need to work on occupying themselves without relying on others.
Pretty basic way of defining it there. You can be loud, garrulous, opinionated, assertive, friendly and... still need to retreat to find some time to think it over, making you an introvert.

July 2011 Horoscopes Jul 01, 2011 Love168Hate9
Now that summer’s in full swing, find out what the month will bring! Check out your July 2011 Horoscope right here on Kidzworld! (Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANCER!)
July 2011 Horoscopes
You can be pretty blunt about things that you have a strong opinion on, but this month it'll be more important than ever for you to try and let people know what you think without being plain old nasty about it!
Love: Still in a rush to get your summer crush going? Relax! You don't need to try so hard or get so impatient about it. You've still got the whole summer ahead of you to have fun just being together and getting to know each other - nice and slow!
There's gonna be plenty of drama-rama going on between you and your friends this month ... and, as usual, it will be up to you to soothe the burn after all the scorched feelings have happened. If worst comes to worst, a little ice cream can work wonders!
Love: The summer sun may help shed some light on who is actually the right crush for you! It may be time to take a second look at that girl or guy you're always laughing with...
No one said having a big group of friends would be easy. You have to manage a lot of feelings to make sure everyone's getting along. Try not to get caught up in the drama, though; simply remind your pals how lucky y'all are to have each other.
Love: Your crush has been pretty patient with you up until now, but that won't last forever. If you don't want to see them throw in the towel, try to tone down the drama this month.
Cancer (June 21-July 22):
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANCER! This'll be a month full of love - for yourself, your fam and your friends. Now's a great time to make up with anyone you're fighting with. It'll make for much smoother sailing - at least, in the friendship department - all summer long!
Love: No one is perfect, especially when it comes to your crush. Give them a chance to show you who they really are - no expectations on your end for what they ought to be. You may be pleasantly surprised!
Leo's a natural-born leader, just like the REAL king of the jungle! But it says a lot about the kind of good person you are when you let someone also take charge for a change, especially when it comes to making plans this summer.
Love: If your crush isn't funny, it may not be meant to last. You love to laugh, so it's important to choose someone that can tickle your funny bone - and likes to have his or her funny bone tickled right back (in other words, knows how to take a joke)!
If you find yourself hit with a summer cold, don't stress out. A couple days of rest and plenty of fluids and you'll be good as new - all set to get out and enjoy the summer sun!
Love: Your friends may call your summer crush "too nice," but you know that you've truly found a gem in this guy or girl. Let your pals deal with the troublemakers and snag yourself a crush that treats you with respect!
Libra (September 23-October 22):
When your friends are fighting your first instinct is to tell them to "chill," but this summer it may be best to handle your pals with care ... or they may accuse you of butting your nose into their business.
Love: If your crush tells you that you need to change something about yourself, especially when it comes to your hair, clothes or how you look, tell them you are ready to change something: crushes!
If your friends are heading to the beach or the pool and you just don't feel like hanging, stay home and try to find some other way to entertain yourself. It's better than tagging along and bringing everyone down with your grumpy mood!
Love: You may feel desperate to get a summer crush, but think twice before you make a move on your best guy or gal pal - is it worth it if it's gonna ruin your friendship?
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21):
Whether you're going to camp or on vacation with the fam, bring paper and pens so you can write your friends back home and keep in touch. (If snail mail's too old-fashioned, find a computer along the way so you can email your buddies while you're away!)
Love: Being too eager (sending too many texts or emails, etc.) can totally backfire when it comes to your crush. Calm down and lay low instead - you'll see that things will unfold naturally.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19):
Your talented self is still waiting to burst through; this month is gonna present you with some pretty unique opportunities to do things that'll totally wow everyone around you! Even something as simple as organizing your next family picnic will have people saying that you're a star!
Love: Secret crushes are fun, especially in the summer! But don't scare this shy guy or girl away by letting on that you know what's up too early in the game. Enjoy being admired from afar for a while first!
Aquarius (January 20-February 18):
Don't let the weight of the world get you down. You can't solve everyone else's problems. Just take care of yourself, make sure you're being the best person you can be and enjoy your life - especially when the sun is shining!
Love: Just cause it seems like all your friends have coupled up this summer, don't settle for a crush that's not right for you. Find other ways to spend your time and a good one will come along lickety split!
Support your friends and they'll support you. If a pal is going through a rough patch, it may be easier to forget about them and concentrate on all the summer fun you're having. But the next time you need a shoulder to cry on, don't count on them to be there unless you step up and be a great friend now.
Love: Going away this summer? Worried your crush will forget all about you while you're gone? Put your mind to rest - not only will you be missed, but things will likely be better than ever once you get back home (so long as you remember to keep in touch while you're MIA)!
