America Recycles Day is celebrated on November 15th each year to raise awareness about the benefits of recycling. It is a nationally recognized holiday that started in 1997. Communities across American have been using this day to educate and motivate others to recycle and to buy products made with recycled materials. We must spread the word of what can be done if we all work together!

America Recycles Day

Recycling is something we have all been taught to do since we were young, but do we really do it? Do you know the impact we could have on the world if everyone recycled!? Let’s start by talking about what recycling is. Recycling is reusing materials instead of disregarding them as garbage. Waste can be reused in its original manner or converted into new materials. Typical materials we can recycle are paper, metal, plastic, glass, styrofoam, textiles and electronics. These materials are brought to a collection center, cleaned, and reprocessed into new materials and new products. This benefits the environment in many ways.

Jewelry and tattoos with Recycling Symbol

Recycling saves energy, money and land space. It costs less money to reprocess used materials than it does to create them from scratch. It also reduces trash dumped in land fills, and keep in mind, most trash is not biodegradable, so it just sits there and builds up over time. Yuck! Recycling is also good for the air and water. Decomposing waste releases harmful toxins, chemicals and gases into the air and soil which eventually reach our water sources. Decreasing emissions of these gases will also help with global climate change. Therefore, the more we recycle, the less polluted our air and water will be. Don’t you want to breathe cleaner air and drink cleaner water? I know I do! Recycling also preserves wildlife because we are cutting down fewer trees to make new materials. This can help with extinction problems and leave more natural habitat for various animal species.

Thousands of events across the country will be taking place to celebrate the 14th annual America Recycles Day. Communities are cleaning up their towns and joining the festivities to help the environment. Recycling helps maintain the environment for generations to come! The international symbol for recycling is three arrows moving in a triangle. Each arrow represents a part of the process; reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycling is the easiest way to go green!

Organic bone, wood, and horn tapers and plugs

If you’re a jewelry lover like me, another awesome way to go green is by wearing natural or organic jewelry. There are some really beautiful natural stone tapers, tunnels, bracelets, earrings and belly rings available, and you can feel good about wearing them. You can be fashionable while respecting the environment at the same time. So remember to celebrate America Recycles Day in your own special way!

Navel Rings with Natural Stone Dangles

Ways that the pierced can recycle, reduce, and reuse:

Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse

1. Old body jewelry balls and gems that have been stripped or broken make great beads for all sorts of craft projects.

2. Charms and dangles from necklaces, belly rings, and just about anything make adorable charms for your shoelaces and cell phones.

3. BodyCandy ships our merchandise in reusable padded envelopes and boxes from the US Postal Service, so if you need to make a return or reship items as a gift, just cover or remove the shipping label and readdress.  Pop your pieces back in, tape it up, and you’re good to go for a second usage!

4. Instead of using all that water and paper products for washes and soaks, get your hands on some H2Ocean piercing aftercare spray.  Then when you’re done with it, recycle the can.

Confused about Student Loan Payment

Confused about Student Loan Payment

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
Hi,

I'm currently studying on a Higher Diploma Course and I have applied for a Student Loan. I've been granted this loan, but when I log in on the studentfinance page it says that I will get the first half of the loan in February and the second half in May.

I already had to pay the tuition fees in September before my course started and it says they will send the money to my college.

So I'm really confused about that. Why is it that I only get the loan in February/May, and is it normal that it only comes after already having paid the fees? Will I get the money back from my college?

Hope anyone can explain this to me.

Thanks,

Betty

Today I’m going to talk fashion about something I really love, and personally feel is highly underrated: glitter!

Pierced woman wearing gorgeous glitter

For anyone who lived through the 90s, or even (gulp) the 80s, you might feel like glitter is a been there, done that, who needs the 57 showers you’ll need to take to get it off kinda deal.  But in the second decade of the 21st century, glitter has become so much more than an annoying fashion semi-faux pas and best friend to twelve year olds.  The new face of shimmer is more adult friendly, more skin friendly, and far more interesting.

Belly Button Rings with Glitter

This fall, for example, glitzy jewelry is making an extreme comeback, and with super-saturated colors at the forefront of accessory fashion, the mix is downright mesmerizing.  Take Autumn’s “It” colors: red, blue, and grey/silver.  Even on their own these power hues are pretty intense, but add a hyper dose of sparkle, and they become the amazing finishing touch to anything from formalwear to skinny jeans.

Different Styles of Glitter Ear Plugs

And the very best part about it is that you get to rock out with some glam glitter that won’t take three days to get off.  Some of the most popular ways to wear it?  Glittering belly rings, multiple sets of matched glitter ear jewelry, and glittering cocktail rings.

Cocktail Rings with Glitter

So take some time this Fall to reacquaint yourself with your long lost childhood friend the glitter bug.  I guarantee it’s a friendship that will last a lifetime.

Amongst the rain and mud, it’s hard but you can still look fashionable.  Color is so important for Fall, and the rich, vivacious colors popular this year will bring your outfits to life.  It’s easy to make use of color to create combinations for the unique look you desire.

Popular Accessory Colors for Fall

The best part about the Fall season is that you can wear comfortable, everyday clothes, and spice it up effortlessly with jewelry.  You don’t need to go on a shopping spree for an expensive new Autumn wardrobe; just play around by adding some vibrant earrings, necklaces, body jewelry, and rings to a simple outfit.  Depending on your style, there are always plenty of choices that are totally chic.

Vibrant Orangey Toned Body Jewelry

This season it’s all about the warm persimmons, garnets, cherries, and safflowers.  A simple black sweater and jeans can be transformed to a totally trendy look in a matter of seconds with colorful baubles.  Mix and match antique styles, feathers, and other Fall toned items.  Try to stay away from neons and go with deeper, richer tones, and if you can’t decide, look outside!  The natural colors of changing leaves are a reminder of what’s in right now.

Body Jewelry in Autumn Colors

Turquoise is another fun Fall worthy color that can completely change your look.  Natural blues and greens mixed in with that turquoise hue is very flattering, especially for brunettes, and they’re easy to find in rings, plugs, bracelets, and more.

Turquoise Jewelry for Fall

Big statement earrings are also a must have.  They can transform your face by making the nose appear smaller, bringing out your eye color, and creating body and movement.  Long chandelier or feather earrings are a part of the bohemian look that’s definitely on trend right now, and as a bonus they look great whether your hair is down or up.  Gold is also very popular right now.  More and more people are drifting away from silver and polished steel and sporting gold tone jewelry for Fall.  The best thing about earrings is that they never go completely out of fashion, so keep that collection growing!

Beautiful Gold Tone Dangle Earrings

A real fashionista knows how to make the same outfit look completely different just with the jewelry they choose to wear.  So next time you need to change up your favorite Fall outfit (like those leggings, tall boots, or scarves that you don’t want to take off) always remember that accessories are an easy and playful solution, and have fun with Fall fashion!

Question: In Britain, the Earth's magnetic field dips downwards towards the North at about 70 degrees to the horizontal. The magnetic field is often considered in 2 components - a vertical comp. of strength 50 micro Tesla and a horizontal comp. of strength 20 micro Tesla. A lab is 9.2m long by 7.5m wide and has a height of 2.4m. Its longest side lies in a North-South direction. Calculate both the horizontal and vertical components of the magnetic flux through this laboratory as a result of the Earth's magnetic field.

Im not really sure how to approach this question at all! Any help owuld be appreciated!

Hello everyone, i wanted to ask about confidentiality...

im doing an apprenticeship and feel pretty ****.... anyway lol,

I want to speak to someone about how im feeling, i feel really crappy and depressed i guess? I keep having suicidal thoughts but i know i wouldnt ever carry it out as im too much of a chicken, i just think about an easy way out i guess,

And i been always feeling down and crying, keep having days where i dont eat and pretend ive eaten just so i wont be cooked dinner at home or whatever,

I want to talk to my apprenticeship teacher as she has noticed ive been down, however i dont want her to go and blab everything to my parents or anyone ?

I was thinkig about saying to her 'can i speak to you?'

and we go into a room, and me asking her what the confidentiality rules were, and if she said she couldnt promise to keep anything a secret, i was just going to say 'oh, ok well dont worry' and walk out...

Is that a bad idea ?

My bestfriend has started being nasty to me :(

My bestfriend has started being nasty to me :(

AppId is over the quota

My best friend (we will call him Mike) and me were like really close. We would constantly message each other on skype, facebook and text from the first thing in the morning to late on at night. He told me that he loved me and I made him laugh on Skype and I've met his mum and his flatmates love me. They're always inviting me over for tea.

Anyway, he got drunk and hooked up with this girl and now they're going out two weeks ago. I messaged him to send him this link I thought he might have found useful to be nice, and I told him I was fine with it. (It's obvious he is a player so I was glad it wasn't me in the relationship). So he's ignored me for a week since he's been going out with her.

But now he is commenting on my facebook status' trying to start an argument. He's had a go at me over my grammar and I told him I wasn't going to argue with him and it was pretty obvious I was backing down and yet he kept having a go at me. He said 'Please for the sake of humanity, use commas.' Then he went on telling me where the said button was, as well as the button for a full stop. Then he said one of my comments was rude, when it was clearly intended as a joke/sarcastically cause it had loads of winky faces it in and it wasn't even offensive anyway. Also, he deleted me off my Skype.

I don't get why he is being like this. His girlfriend, she's in my year, is fine with me and she never says anything negative to my face. If he comments on my status do I just ignore him and try to stay away from him? His flatmates keep inviting me over too and it's getting awkward because I don't know what to say. His girlfriend has access to his facebook but I don't see why she would read the messages I've sent him, they weren't even romantic or flirty.

I just don't get it and Idk what to do. Do I confront him about this? I don't want any tension with his girlfriend either cause I want to get the best out of my degree and so I don't want to sit in the tutorials and be quiet because I feel like I've done something wrong.

Thanks guys

On August 3rd, 1990, George Bush approved a joint resolution declaring November “National American Indian Heritage Month.”  This is a month dedicated to learning more about the legacy and history of Native Americans. The goal was to give recognition to the first Americans who helped established and explore the United States.

Native American Style Jewelry

National Indian Heritage Month provides a time for native peoples to keep their traditions and culture alive. Congress chose November because it was the traditional harvest season and a time of celebration and thanksgiving for American Indians. The first thanksgiving was a three day feast in celebration of good harvest by the pilgrims and Native Americans. It was also a time to give thanks for reaching the New World safely. This first festive gathering took place in the autumn of 1621. However, Thanksgiving was not an annual observance in the United States until 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it a national holiday. Today, we celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the forth Thursday of every November, and this year it falls on November 24th. Thanksgiving Day is historically known for celebrating the year’s harvest, but it’s also a time for Fall traditions.

Holiday Turkey Navel Jewelry

This holiday is not only a time to reflect on the great accomplishments of the American Indians, but it’s also the perfect time to celebrate family, friends, food, and beautiful Autumn weather. What else could you ask for?! If you love this holiday as much as I do, then you’ll love showing off your spirit with Thanksgiving and Native American style jewelry. Cute pilgrim and turkey belly rings are perfect for this time of year, and there are also many types of jewelry with natural feathers, American Indian motifs, and gorgeous Fall colors. So be fashionable while you celebrate this Thanksgiving Day and National Indian Heritage Month!

How can I do this? I know the primary concern will be the SATA drivers, but also the other drivers will be important... and I'll be needing to do it over USB, of course.

I'm imagining I'll need to slipstream all these drivers into a copy of the OS - well, it'll save me a few hours anyway. I have a legitimate copy of Windows XP Professional I got through MSDN AA, so that's not a bother.

So, manic moment passed, I need to get the drivers (especially SATA), the software to slipstream it all together, and some way of getting it onto a bootable USB drive, because CDs aren't an option.

Sorry I'm seeming a little unintelligent here, but it's been a while since I used Windows for anything other than editing documents and downloading porn, so I've forgotten loads...

The Holiday season is fast approaching, and to prevent piercing and jewelry mishaps, it’s time to start thinking about how to make our Holiday worry free.

Holiday Shopping

It may be easy to slack on cleaning, soaking, or protecting one or more of our piercings during the busy Holiday rush.  With all of the shopping, traffic, errands, and extra work, there’s barely time to squeeze in a two minute shower, let alone all the time and ceremony of a ten minute sea salt rinse and a five minute cleanse with antibacterial soap.  That’s where some handy little helpers step in.  With the variety of on-the-go aftercare products readily available, you can choose from ready swabs, sea salt sprays, mouth rinses for oral piercings, and even handy polishing cloths to do a quick shine-up before that important dinner.  If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to keep a set of your favorites in the house and the car at all times for those “just in case” situations.

Piercing and Aftercare Products

This is also the perfect time of year to build your backstock of jewelry items so that you won’t be caught without a piece of jewelry to wear if anything should accidentally break, strip its threads, or have a vital piece get lost.  Simple but cute versions of most body jewelry items can be found at great prices this time of year, so snatching up a few to have as back-ups is a breeze.  Just check out the cute pieces below, all just 99 cents.

Standard Acrylic Belly Rings

Cute Inexpensive Captive Rings

Finally, for the pierced people in your life, it’s extremely cost effective (and more heartfelt) to put together your own matching sets of jewelry as gifts.  Giving someone with multiple piercings a set of matching body jewelry featuring their favorite colors or motifs is a cute way to show you care, and with online shopping you can do it all from home.  Take the set we’ve made below.  Starting with a staple piece (we chose a multi-functional plain stainless steel captive on clearance for just $0.39) a cute Holiday set with matching nose bones, belly rings, labret studs, and even changeable replacement balls can come together for just a few dollars.

Matching Clearance Priced Body Jewelry

The Holidays may be hectic, hair raising, and downright exhausting sometimes, but if we arm ourselves with the right tools to get the job done, we can all have some sweet seasonal fun.

Sick of the virgin "banter"

Sick of the virgin "banter"

I've got the same problem except i'm not a virgin. Just really shy.

The guys i live with and go out with are all either in relationships or regularly pulling girls. They often talk about girls as if they're nothing more than sex objects and i feel REALLY uncomfortable listening to it. I don't want to just follow what they're doing, i have no interest in ONS', casual sex or anything like that. I want a nice girl who i can take care of because i really miss the closeness you get in a relationship.

They've clearly picked up on my 'awkwardness' and often make fun of me for it, i know its just banter but its really not helping my confidence. Sometimes when we're out i get pushed into random girls or one of the guys will go over and whisper god knows what in their ear, i get so embarassed. Sometimes they will point out a random girl and encourage me to go and say hi, but i just can't do it. Even though i've had girlfriends before i'm so insecure about how i look. I know i'm not ugly, i just can't see why a girl would be interested.

Whenever i'm out and see a girl who looks friendly, i always get really nervous that she'd assume i wanted to have sex with her and she would ignore me, be rude to me or laugh at me with her friends. I'm sure there are plenty of nice girls out there, some of them may be just as awkward as i am but i just can't go up and say hi. All i can do is smile. I really hate myself for it because anywhere else i would go up and say hi without a second thought. I'm comfortable around girls as friends but when anything romantic is involved my self confidence just goes.

If i were you i wouldn't aim for your first time to be from a ONS. **** what anyone else says. You're unlikely to see that person again and if something goes wrong, the girl isn't going to be very sympathetic. Thats hardly going to help you confidence wise is it? In a relationship, your inexperience won't be an issue. My first girlfriend was a lot more experienced than i was, i was so bloody nervous at first (as i will no doubt be when i eventually meet a new girl here) but she was really sweet about it.

Thats not to say you shouldn't still go up and talk to girls when you're out though. Its still practice and you can still meet someone nice - if you're getting along get their number, meet them again and go from there. Can't really give any advice here because i have the same problem myself
