I was on gumtree.com and found this really awesome room being rented out, and it was only £140 a month all bills included. It was a nice double room in a very nice flat. I've booked a viewing but the people living there are this gay couple. I'm 20 years old, male and second year student but I am a bit scared.

I'm more scared of this room sounding too good to be true. What's going on? And is there a possibility of it being a scam? Why would someone rent out such a nice room out for just £140 a month? I saw rooms like that with kitchens and bathrooms as nice which were going for at least £800 a month. And no I didn't get the figures wrong.

And anyway, how does renting work? Will I need to sign anything? The man didn't even ask anything about me which I found strange, he seemed a bit unfriendly, like he didn't ask my name, my age, my number, who I am etc, which I found weird seeing as I'm meeting him tomorrow for a viewing.

So would you feel comfortable living in a flat with a gay couple? And also what ways are there to stop me from being scammed? Is there any things I need to watch out for?
