'Access to' schemes

'Access to' schemes

I was wondering if anyone knew what universities run these 'Access To' schemes? Ive seen a lot around such as Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, York but I cant find a list of every university that offers it.
Is it just the one scheme that these universities are part of, i.e. is it a nationwide scheme universities choose to be part of or do the universities set it up themselves and thus can set the different criteria? Cus ive noticed they all say different but similar things about the criteria. (such as fulfilling at least two of the criteria at York but not even one at Bristol?)
Also, what actually is it? Ive seen on Leeds I believe, that they can reduce your offer by 40 points but I dont think any of the others ive seen have specified what they actually do?
Basically, if anyone has applied via the scheme or knows a bit more about it then I do then id be grateful for any advice you give!

Thanks

Today I woke up just... I'm aware his 14: 17 but I woke up because I wanted it to.
Realized I something scary was going to happen, so I said ok me time to wake up look. Rub SO I started my eye and I got up.
Also the last few months, when I dream I need always a way to get, and its more of a place where I, know close to my house... like on the road, where there is a primary school or block-busters-Etx and when I do I always have the same direction until this road and take a bus. (the right bus in real life) and at the end of the crook log (swimming area) not sure why it did not in years but yes.

About the school, what I usually made with a believe in particular science friends so I resent it because everything, what I do is sleep and get good grades, I say that I can still hear, if in the sleep but it like what ever. Plus I don't revise.

Access to the library for not UoE members

Access to the library for not UoE members

Welcome to the University of Edinburgh-Forum: where prospective and current students can nothing about Edinburgh discuss University. Old 8 Minutes ago: 21 July 2011 18: 25 Re: access to the library for not UoE members Hiya,.
I currently live in Edinburgh and have read a lot and General Studies (dissertation English!), I was hoping, access the University Library, unfortunately I am not at the University of Edinburgh and as far as I know, that the only way to actually in the Hall of the library access is via the map. My friend is to study here and he is not sure whether guests are allowed and has want to risk with his card, and so on me. I'm in Cambridge, and even in school libraries where no one except for members of the College in, guests they can follow even logged in, as long as simple rules (time approved by the library, etc.), so... with the expectation that the library is not restrictive, and as a member of another University I would appreciate you if you know me when leave could :
(a) guests may be logged in, to the use of the base library facilities (I search not books from the library borrow)
(b) what is the risk of me with his show caught (i.e. they do round, ID checks, etc.?)
Thanks! Access rights you can get only if you are a student at another University. She'll give you an access card, etc.. If you are an undergraduate not you can borrow books, but if you are a postgraduate you can borrow books. SCONUL access is a desired. May be you need to get a form from Cambridge but (you may be able to print you it from the Internet or they could stamp, so maybe they have telephone and they could post-it) and Edinburgh apparently, that to have a photo. I did it the opposite way to Aberdeen library used when I stay with my friend, the registration takes a few minutes and then you can swipe than normal.

She would not really use his ID card questions about you, to be honest. I saw never during my 4 years it check someone cards, although if you swipe it the wrong way, and they come, to help you, then questions could you why you have a young face. As long as you usually looks like a student and to know what you are doing/where you're going, then she wouldn't be really questions, why were you displayed in the library.

Is an access course really as hard as my family has to tell me?

Is an access course really as hard as my family has to tell me?

Discussion for tire students in higher education or training. Old 29 Minutes ago: 2. July 2011 12: 12 Re: really an access course is how to keep my family tell me so hard,? Access courses are a piece of piss compared to degrees. Of course I have a science access course, so that Humanities based can be slightly different.

It seems enough dedicated to be most access courses that you first be they throw in at the deep end in an attempt to weed out all the people, who go to are / are not and then the workload easier something out over time to if you at the top with everything, keep.

In my experience, what an interview I was told, universities actually prefer mature more tires that students on account of them... well. Access students accept but some places (such as imperial in London), as they prepared for the rigors of higher education as A-level students to look at it less (is true to an extent, A-levels are much more difficult than an access course). A problem with Birmingham should not but.

If you are Genuninely interest and passion, you will find access to a no-brainer. Saying that access courses tend have a very high drop to, rate, because people forget how difficult study actually is. I remember the 40 or so people, which was the access course, I started on just 6 of us stayed to the end.

Old19 Minutes ago: 2. July 2011 12: 22 costaerer -1   Re: really an access course is how to keep my family so hard to tell me? its not, where close so hard like a levels-that's for sure.
I found that my tutors desperately wanted to pass it, so that they over bent backwards for you!
You arent loads and loads of work at the same time most given, 2 maps.

good luck, and in the safe that you will do well.

PS I have passed an access course with minimal effort (hard) and with flying colors....

Old17 Minutes ago: 2. July 2011 12: 24 Re: really an access course is how to keep my family tell me so hard,? Hello!
I'm Laura and I have just joined. I'm starting an English and Humanities access course go in September, hopefully next year to Birmingham University and to study archeology and ancient history. I am so excited, I can hardly contain me, but time goes on, my family kept telling me how difficult it is going to be and I'm starting to questions, what I me in looking! After my interviews for College etc. I've not gone into this with my eyes closed, I know it an intensive year will be, but my family make it seem, how do I in hell for a year...
I am passionate about archeology and disparate reach University before it too late.
I think my question is, what are all those who experienced new buildings to access courses? There are any tips how you it is easier to make? and completely off subject really mature students are from universities accept? or it is more difficult, is a place than older? (if I only 24 would, if I start!)
Thank you! Hi!
I went for my access course part-time (English lit and history) but I so wish I full time now had done. It is ridiculously easy. Even if it is three times as hard as part time to full time, it would be still piss easy.
I managed to get 54 / 60 credits of distinction and the remains in merit - and I have four children!
I am sure that you will be ready. Questions, questions simply last edited by Jeffercake; 16 Minutes ago at 12: 26. reason: typo
