But I really do think it will help calm me down and think straight if I have people commenting directly about my situation.

I'm a British Pakistani girl and I just joined UCL (University College London). I'm single, and (probably like a lot of people) I always assumed that University would be the ideal place to date people and eventually get into a relationship with someone. The only problem is that so far the only boys showing any interest in me are boys of my own race. Whilst I have no issues with that, I really don't want to limit who I date just because of my ethnicity, and I'm not very attracted to Asians at all. Boys from other races/backgrounds don't seem to ever ask me on a date, and it's reaching the point where it's actually distressing me a little.

Is there anything I can do to break this glass barrier? I have tried to be really friendly and sociable to everyone, regardless of nationality/race/religion/colour, but all I ever succeed in establishing is a new friendship at best.

I really hope I don't sound superficial, even though this 'problem' may sound quite trivial. But I would really like to be in a happy interracial (is that the right word?) relationship. Being single can get a little lonely, especially if you're in London.

I'm Indian and the only boys showing interest in me are caucasians and all races (even oriental) except South Asians.

Opposite to your situation,but I really wish a nice Indian guy would ask me out for once.Most of the British Indian guys I've met seem very ill mannered,which was very off putting
