University course discussion for dentistry. 1 Hour Ago: 17th October 2011 00:20 Helloo, I'm studying at my local sixthform and want to go into the Dentistry field because i enjoy what dentists do bizarrely. I am not picking any of the sciences nor maths A-level. I am studying Computing, Product Design and Business & Economics, I need information on whether or not i can become a dentist?.

Have you researched about foundation courses? 1 Hour Ago: 17th October 2011 00:27 From my limited knowledge of dentistry (accidentally clicked on this thread, and thought I'd reply anyway!), you do need Chemistry (and possibly Biology) to go straight onto a Dentistry degree.

That said, I just had a quick look at Cardiff's Dentistry faculty - which from what I've heard is a fairly good one - you can do a 6 (instead of 5) year course if you haven't any A-levels in Biology/Chemistry: "Six-Year course: The six-year course is ONLY available to students who either take no Science subjects at A-Level or take a maximum of one of Chemistry, Biology or Physics. Entry requirements will be three A-Levels at AAA."
