You’re practically drooling over that gorgeous belly ring with real diamonds, but you’re afraid to pull the trigger for fear that, in fact, it isn’t a real diamond. It can be scary to buy a real stone online, but there are lots of upsides too, starting with price. There’s stiff competition, so online dealers know that they have to offer down-to-earth prices in order to stay in business. Selection is the other biggie. Brick-and-mortar stores simply can’t stock the number of pieces that online sites can. When you find something you love, make sure you’re getting a quality piece by checking out the company itself: does it offer a return/exchange policy of at least 30 days? Does it offer a lifetime guarantee? Do you get a GIA diamond certificate on diamonds that are 1 carat or larger (it’s cost prohibitive on diamonds smaller than 1 carat)? Does the company have a good reputation and good feedback? Lastly, sometimes a site just doesn’t make you feel comfortable; always listen to your instincts!
