Facebook - deleting versus deactivating

I 'deactivated' facebook around six months ago. No regrets, never looked back, have no desire to go back on it. Would recommend anyone with half a brain on this website do the same.

I was told at the time by someone that if I deactivated facebook and didn't log in for 2 weeks then it would be deleted. I have just realised through reading an article that is actually not the case and that all my information is still there if for some reason I had the desire to log back in (or indeed if someone else wanted to). For some reason this is really bothering me and I want to be able to delete it permanently.

It looks like to delete it I will have to log back in which I really don't want to do, send a delete request and then wait 2 weeks without logging in again for it to be granted:

My question is, if I did this would my facebook exist again for these 2 weeks (even if I didn't log back into it - like, I mean, could others see my profile/photos etc?) Or does it automatically put it back into 'deactivation' and then just delete if I don't log into it, like what I originally assumed would happen? I assume someone who's deleted facebook before would know.

Thanks for any answers I receive!
