Old 31 Minutes Ago: 29th June 2011 22:54 noobynoo +1   The end of Europe... predictions? First there were riots in North Africa, the Libyans are fleeing to Italy causing tensions there.
Then there are riots in Greece where taxes are going up making people more likely to "flee" Greece to a more northern European country.
So it looks like there's a domino effect taking place, where the problems of the poorer southern European and North African countries are flowing northwards.

If Greece defaults on it's debt this could bring European countries down forcing north European countries to vote in tougher governments who might force Greece to pay with military force.

This looks like it will split Europe in two with an iron curtain. North Europe and Southern Europe. The Southern European countries might unite with North Africans countries to form a Mediterranean regional power. This regional power would bring in immigrants from sub-saharan Africa for cheap labour hence changing the identity of the region.

Next, with the north European countries in need of cash flow they might sell all their assets to a Russia-China communist union. Having control of all Northern Europes assets they would then presume military control. Then Northern Europe would become part of Asia and Southern Europe would become part of Africa.

That is my prediction for the downfall of the European empire which would happen by 2050.

What's your predictions?

It's not a domino effect, there are completely separate reasons in terms of why there are riots. In terms of the middle-eastern revolutions, then yes it's a domino effect, however Greece is facing seemingly mild riots in comparison - over economic issues - rather than fundamental human rights. They're protesting over the further bailout funds the Greek government wants to take, which means further austerity measures.

If Greece defaults on its debt, this would affect Germany and France mainly - the core countries, which are growing very strongly, particularly Germany. Germany's been paying reparations for years and brought a severlely poverty strickern Eastern Germany to a blossoming economy, I doubt the 50 odd billion which directly affects them will do much damage. There would be a loss in confidence in the euro, however, and the effects of that are dependent on many things, although it may lead to greater losses for eurozone countries.

There's not a chance in hell they'll force Greece to pay with military force though. Firstly, isn't the German army controlled by NATO? Or severly restricted by NATO? I'm not too sure on that, but I've heard this was the case. Secondly, it just won't happen, Greece is a peaceful country, and its 'punishment' for defaulting on its debt would be the lack in investor confidence etc. The core countries of the EU would just have to suck it up and accept the losses.

Greece would still be a member of the EU though, in my opinion, just not of the eurozone - I certainly don't think they'll join some North African alliance.

It's even deliberating on a nuclear weapon's program. Old 7 Minutes Ago: 29th June 2011 23:19   Re: The end of Europe... predictions? the foxy welsh girl off of the One Show? What you're saying is really crazy. And I don't see that Russian-Chinese alliance too soon.
Although the chinese are getting really powerful.
Anyway
There is unrest in different areas but everything will settle down in a few years.
The future of Europe is globalization. Soon all countries will be part of the European Union. Even more people than now will speak English. The European Union will grow, and ties between its countries will strengthen. Economy and general life will be better because of advances in technology, infrastructure. It is inevitable that in 2050 life will be better. The only threat I see is military conflict. Although I don't see that in Europe anytime soon.
Maybe USA-Russian-Chinese-Middle Eastern wars, but not european countries Last edited by stefyx; 1 Minute Ago at 23:25.
